Buko Pandan salad is a refreshing traditional Filipino dessert made of young coconut meat (buko) strings, sweetened milk or cream, and jelly cubes flavored with screw pine or locally known as pandan leaf. Served cold and super easy to make and so refreshing to have during the hot summer months. It is a sweet, creamy and a delicious dessert that is perfect for any occasion.

Buko Pandan is a popular dessert that originated from the island province of Bohol. It is a Fan favorite staple dessert for most Filipino gatherings like fiestas, celebrations, and holiday parties. It is considered one of the most quintessential desserts in the Philippines and almost always a must have during special occasions. It is one of the simplest desserts to make, which I bet almost any Filipino mom knows how to make.

Buko Pandan is made up of young coconut, agar-agar/green gelatin, tapioca pearls, evaporated milk, condensed milk and pandan taste/extract. Although artificial extracts are available, fresh pandan juice extracted from the leaves can be used to make this dessert that much more fragrant. No better way to complete a meal amongst friends and family than to have some cool, creamy coconutty, Buko Pandan!
